How Did Spyware Come to
Infect My Machine?
Many people are surprised that their computer could become
infected with spyware. Most computer users will claim that they
have anti-virus software and firewall software running on their
machines. This though doesn’t normally help with spyware as
most anti-virus software doesn’t detect spyware.
One of the biggest sources of spyware
applications are through questionable software that is
downloaded and installed onto a computer. This is especially
true of shareware programs; the reason that they are free is
that they will install spyware at the same time as the
shareware program. Some programs will not even hide this fact
and clearly state it in the license agreement. This is probably
as good a reason as any as to why it is important to read the
agreements before installing anything.
Some free software will allow the option of not
including spyware or adware when the software is downloaded. So
it is always important to check before installing onto the
computer. Most forms of shareware programs though will
automatically install spyware, and if this is the case then
search for a different program to install.
Another major source for a computer to become
infected with spyware is the unknown email attachments. Those
who design spyware are normally clever enough to disguise the
files attached to bypass any anti-virus program detection
attempts. These forms of spyware are easily avoided though by
simply avoiding email attachments from people you do not know.
The attachments to particularly lookout for are those .bat and
.exe files that will often contain spyware.
The third main source of spyware infections is
use of illegal torrent sites and peer to peer networks.
Downloads from these sites are consistently shown to have
malicious spyware infections that will try and obtain personal
details about a computer user. Anyone who has downloaded
anything from illegal or questionable sources has a good chance
of infection their computer with spyware.
For those people who have already been infected
with spyware then there is only one possible solution, purchase
and install a trusted spyware removal program. You should be
able to find a good spyware application, like Noadware, that offers a free trial scan, to ensure that it
will do what you want it to.
Noadware is the best program
when it comes to spyware removers. We have provided more
information about Noadware in
our review, which shows our test results as well.
