Spyware Nuker has proved itself to be one of
the more popular anti-spyware removal
applications available for purchase. There has been an
estimated 8 million downloads of Spyware Nuker since it was
first released. Popularity though is no guarantee that a
spyware removal program is any good.
We have undertaken some thorough testing in
order to examine the advantages and disadvantages of making use
of Spyware Nuker. It is hoped that this review will enable a
potential purchaser to make an informed choice as to whether
this spyware remover is right for you.
Features - Spyware Nuker comes complete
with all of the fundamental features you would expect of a good
anti-spyware program. These features include quick scans, deep
scans, as well as the ability to ignore, back-up and retrieve
potential spyware and adware.
The problem with Spyware Nuker is that is
doesn’t get beyond the basic functions of a spyware scanner.
There are no additional features to add any value to the
program. Despite this it does the basics of locating and
removing any spyware threats so is good enough in this
aspect.
Ease of Installation – At 6.4mb, the
download required to install Spyware Nuker is larger than many
of its rival anti-spyware applications. Once downloaded though
it is a simple process of just clicking on the file to install
the spyware remover.
After the license agreement has been accepted
it is possible to also install INAC Startup Manger from the
same download. This is a nice little tool that does allow a
user to pick and choose which programs load up during the
computer start up process. If you do install both applications
then 9.5mb of space will be used on your hard drive.
Support System – There is a nice help
feature included in the program that does explain how to make
Spyware Nuker work. Go beyond this though and take a look at
the product’s homepage and there is a lack of information other
than FAQ. Spyware Nuker is a bit disappointing when it may be
vital to find some help.
Appearance – Spyware Nuker is a simple
program although the interface is more complex than many of its
rival anti-spyware programs. The screenshots below show an
outline of the general appearance and some of the product’s
features.
|
From the Start screen it is
possible to commence the computer scan. The
options are for either a quick or deep
scan. In the event that there is more than
one hard drive, it is also possible to
select which one is to be
scanned.
|
|
|
From the Results page it is
possible to see all of the identified
spyware. We would always recommend checking
though the identified spyware before
deleting. It is not unknown for things like
registry settings and cookies to be classed
as spyware even though a user may want to
keep them.
|
|
|
The Alert page shows any
concerns that a user may have, This means
that Spyware Nuker allows for a restoration
of options if required.
|
|
|
In the Exclude option a user
can pick areas or files to be excluded from
future scans and removal.
|
|
From the
Restore page files can be restored if a
back up has been created. This is vital if
files have been incorrectly identified as
spyware.

Final Thoughts – Spyware
Nuker is an easy to use anti-spyware application that does what
you would expect of it, locating and removing spyware and
adware. It would have been nice if the company behind Spyware
Nuker had included more support and more features but these are
minor issues.
Spyware Nuker does include a 56-day
satisfaction guarantee, that means money back in case you find
that the full version is not for your machine.
